Primary Purpose:
The eCommerce Director at Coach Japan, is the architect and driver of our entire e-commerce vision across e-retail DTC, e-Outlet DTC, with growing attention to third-party marketplace channels.
This is a high-impact leadership role that blends strategic foresight with operational excellence. You will strongly lead the evolution of Coach’s digital presence in Japan, delivering best-in-class customer omniexperiences and driving sustainable, profitable growth in one of the world’s most sophisticated luxury markets in collaboration with multi-functions.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will leverage deep eCommerce expertise to:
• Own eCommerce P&L in piloting key lines such as revenue, GM, investments, profitability and drive the ambition to double the business within 3 years.
• Own and lead the end-to-end eCommerce business across Full price(coach.com), Outlet eCommerce including assortment planning, promotional strategy, digital communication, and driving strong growth in third-party partnerships (e.g., Rakuten, ZOZOTOWN, Mitsui, Amazon).
• Develop and execute innovative eCommerce strategies and campaigns that deliver premium, engaging customer experience.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance site design and contents, UX/UI optimization, CRM and personalization and operational efficiency, ensuring a best-in-class digital shopping journey to be relevant to the Japanese consumers.
• Drive conversion and engagement, leveraging data insights to refine onsite MD & communication and maximize sales performance.
• Strategically leverage performance metrics such as traffic sources, brand impact, and online-to-offline conversion to inform strategic decisions to drive those metrics.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, identifying individual strengths and growth opportunities to build future leadership and support business success.
• Act as a key liaison with the New York head office, fostering alignment and collaboration across global teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate will bring:
• 7+ years of experience in eCommerce, with a strong track record in Japan’s digital retail landscape.
• Proven leadership in managing major brand eCommerce platforms; experience in with consumer goods with a focus on premium customer experience is highly preferred.
• Deep understanding of Japan’s eCommerce and evolving consumer behaviors.
• Strong consumer acumen to develop compelling campaigns and drive customer engagement.
• Advanced analytical skills to interpret data, extract insights, and drive business outcomes.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities, with a structured and strategic approach to challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and cross-regionally, with excellent stakeholder management.
• High attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.
• Business level Japanese and English is required.
