Client Services Associate – BNY Investments, Japan

BNY Mellon Investment Management Japan Limited is looking for a Client Service Associate based in Japan to support both Intermediary (retail) and Pension/Financial Institutional clients.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Be client-obsessed in driving the delivery of premium client services and support to Intermediary (retail) and Pension/Financial Institutional clients.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams / offshore offices for clients onboarding /account opening / offboarding, change management, periodic review on clients’ profile and transaction monitoring.
- Manage the end-to-end process to new clients’ contracts and amendments with internal teams.
- Prepare/review/deliver regular clients reporting, marketing materials, market/outlook updates, clients notices, etc., and add relevant disclaimers/disclosures to the materials, where applicable.
- Handle clients’ enquiries and complaints timely and professionally; and promptly escalate potential issues and risks to the management teams.
- Effective use of KYC and CRM systems and other applications to onboard clients to ensure clients records are captured/updated accurately within timeline and corporate standard.
- Ensure clients’ accounts are set up properly to receive account statements, notices, invoices, trailer fee and management fee rebate, where applicable.
- Provide support and coverage to other client services/sales support staff members, as and when required.
- Basic translation to clients reporting/materials, when required.
- Participate in business projects as subject matter expert and complete internal assessments / questionnaires /surveys, when required.
- Focus on specific goals and demonstrate a sense of personal accountability and urgency to achieve results.
- Demonstrate team spirit to accomplish clients related tasks with other key stakeholders.
- Understand and adhere to corporate policies/ procedures / internal controls/ regulations, including but not limited to AML, KYC, ATC and ABC and sanctions requirements, and promptly escalate potential risks.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree holder preferable major in Business or Finance
- 2-4 years of client services/sales support work experience in Investment Management / Asset Management preferred. Working experience in the Banking industry would be considered.
- Diligent, detail-minded, stay curious, own it and be able to work multi-tasking.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in AML/KYC related tasks preferred.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Offices and experience in Salesforce and Tableau would be advantageous.
- Fluent Japanese and manageable English.
