We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Associate to join our Securities Finance, Market Operations team. This role is based in Tokyo, Japan and requires working from office all 5 days.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Oversee daily tasks and provide operational support to facilitate APAC Securities Financing Middle Office activities.
- Manage Secured Loans repo booking and rehypothecation of securities in both BOJNet and internal systems.
- Ensure repo transactions are properly funded, with effective management of variation margin on collateral.
- Monitor client sales, and handle agency lending loan reallocations and recalls.
- Ensure collateral booking and borrowers are covered with adequate collateral against the loans
- Prepare regulatory and internal reports with accuracy and robust control processes.
- Monitor settlements to meet market cut-off times, promptly escalating any potential failures.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, to collect, distribute, and resolve routine transaction information.
- Respond to client and counterparty inquiries efficiently, addressing basic questions and straightforward issues.
- This role does not include direct reports.
- Escalate complex transactions or situations to senior team members as appropriate.
- Contribute actively to the achievement of team goals and objectives.
- Complete and sign off on daily checklists related to assigned responsibilities.
- Seek guidance and clarification from supervisors or managers when necessary.
- Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Masters / bachelor’s degree in science, Commerce, Financial Management.
- 4-5 years’ experience with Custodian / Investment bank (Preferably Securities Lending operations)
- Get trained and handle all daily business operations with a sense of commitment and ownership.
- Experience / Acumen towards Operations and Technology initiatives.
