We are seeking a high-performing Account Manager to lead sales and relationship development in Japan, with a strong focus on Mission-critical IP networks, such as Power Utilities, Main Rail, Metro Rail, Public Safety, Defence. You will be responsible for driving strategic engagements with enterprise customers, telcos, government agencies, and cloud service providers, delivering solutions that meet regional compliance, performance, and digital sovereignty requirements.
This is a strategic sales role for a motivated individual who understands how cloud, AI, and data center modernization are reshaping digital infrastructure in Japan.
• Develop clear strategy and tactics for all existing and target accounts in Mission-critical segments such as Power Utilities, Main Rail, Metro Rail, Public Safety, Defence in Japan, including engagement plans up to C-level.
• Manage and drive virtual teams to diligently qualify and execute on specific account and opportunity plans.
• Continuously generate strong pipeline that supports the achievement of assigned quota(s).
• Understand customer business pain points and KPI’s that are established to meet their business objectives.
• Identify and qualify new business opportunities in meetings with C-Suite key decision makers to obtain executive sponsorship in pursuit of the sale.
• Position the Nokia Network Infrastructure IP portfolio value proposition, demonstrating business benefits and ROI differentiating Nokia from its competitors.
• Achieve and strive to exceed assigned quota(s) by directly covering these key accounts.
• Introduce appropriate senior Nokia management resources in pursuit of orders/sales opportunities.
• Partner with the broader Nokia sales team to leverage joint solutioning and sales.
• Work with key partners to extend our sales efforts in the accounts.
• Strictly adhere to the published Nokia sales processes.
• Complete all administrative assignments accurately, comprehensively and on-time via the Nokia Sales toolsets.
• Represent Nokia in a professional and an ethical manner.
• Travel to make sales calls and related business activities can be up to 3 to 4 days a week in assigned territory.
You have:
- 8-12 years of proven sales experience in a technology company selling to communication Enterprises and or service providers in Mission-critical segments (Utilities, Utelco, Transportation, Public Safety, Defence) in Japan
- Strong understanding of NI solutions, specifically: IP/MPLS
- Knowledge of key technologies such as:
- Data Center Fabric & SDN
- Cloud Platforms (VMware, OpenStack, AWS Outposts, Azure Stack, etc.)
- Quantum-Safe Networking, Cybersecurity
- Ability to build C-Suite relationships directly with the customers.
- Solid business acumen understanding the complexities of business and customer needs.
- Ability to understand at a high level the technical value proposition and then translate it into a business value position (i.e., consultative sales approach for selling solutions).
- Ability to motivate, excite, influence, and lead virtual teams to success in sales campaigns.
- Ability to work/develop the partner ecosystem to enable a stronger go-to-market approach to increase market coverage.
- Should be used to qualifying and closing large and complex deals >1M€.
- Proven track record of success with >4M€ annual sales quota’s
- Exceptional work ethic, the ability to work independently, self-motivated, driven and a strong desire to succeed.
- Awareness solutions provided by Cisco, Juniper, and HP, such as routing, DCF, DDoS and EMS
It would be nice if you also had:
- Strong interest in the different industries and their potential changes with the technology
- Enthusiasm in keeping abreast of technological and market trend as well as competitive intelligence
- Experience working with or selling to cloud providers, managed service providers (MSPs), or systems integrators in Japan.
- Familiarity with Enterprise procurement
