We are looking for a strategic leader to take on the role as Expansion Manager for Region East Asia.
Region East Asia is one of the nine regions within the H&M Group. The Expansion function is to grow and transform the portfolio by building exceptional store experiences – securing high productivity, financial resilience and a strong brand. We do this through holistic retail strategies, fueled by tech innovation and enabled through our global network of teams and partners.

As the Expansion Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales productivity, profitability, regional investment frames, and sustainability goals while ensuring cross functional collaboration and alignment across brands to enable their growth and brand plans in Region East Asia. You will lead a team of Lease Managers across several countries, while closely collaborating with other internal functions such as Controlling, Construction & Facilities, Retail Space Management and Tech to set and achieve growth and portfolio targets.
- Create the expansion strategy and portfolio management plan for the region, in alignment with global and regional management.
- Have the local customer in focus and ensure that our stores beat the local competition in terms of customer experience.
- Coach and guide team in negotiation strategy, ensure that negotiations and contract execution is in line with company, legal and ethical standards, and securing that each deal is improving our standards.
- Represent the company towards major landlords and lead challenging negotiations.
- Secure that projects are managed in a professional way and ready in time, with expected quality, to the best cost, in a sustainable and compliant way.
- Work closely with brands’ representatives and function heads to align on strategies.
- Identify and develop talents to build (future) organization and diverse teams.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Expansion Manager role is a part of the Expansion Department and reports to the Regional Head of Expansion.
This is a full-time position based in either Singapore or Tokyo.

We are looking for people with…
- 5+ years of working experience in leasing, controlling, and/or real estate, preferably within the retail industry.
- A degree in Business Administration, Law or Engineering.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Experience from working in an international organization with several stakeholders and seniority levels. .
And people who are…
- Strong in strategic planning and with long-term vision.
- Excellent in communication and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Other languages from the Sales Markets are merit.
- Flexible to travel within the markets on a frequent basis.
