ROLE OVERVIEW
As an HR and G&A Specialist in Japan, you will serve as a trusted partner to local and global business leaders, driving key people operations and initiatives to support our growing organization. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact HR support in areas such as recruitment operations, employee relations, benefits administration, immigration, compliance, onboarding, and HR systems. This role requires a proactive, flexible, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with business stakeholders to align recruitment processes with organizational goals.- Manage end-to-end onboarding for new hires, ensuring compliance and a positive experience.- Administer employee benefits programs and respond to related inquiries.- Oversee relocation and immigration processes for employees.- Handle HR administration, including contracts, addendums, terminations, and record-keeping.- Support and advise on employee relations matters, including PIPs, grievances, and terminations.- Conduct exit interviews and analyze exit trends to inform retention strategies.- Assist managers with the annual performance review cycle.- Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws and internal HR policies.- Maintain HR data and documentation in Workday and other systems.- Contribute to HR due diligence processes for mergers and acquisitions.- Lead or support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and HR policy guidance.- Support with office administration tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.- Minimum 4 years of HR experience, ideally in a multinational environment.- Demonstrated experience in HR operations, benefits, employee relations, and project execution.- Strong understanding of Japan’s labor laws and HR compliance requirements.- Proficiency with HRIS tools (e.g., Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.- Good verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English.- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and solve complex issues effectively.- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
