Your Role
As a Gensler’s Interior Designer, you will tap into your boundless creativity and passion for design to produce unique and functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You are a self-motivated, team player who is ready for active participation in all phases of the design process. With you as part of the design team, interiors have never been so engaging.
What You Will Do
- Perform interior design assignments using professional concepts and procedures;
- Producing space plans, furniture plans, elevations, sections, joinery/millwork details; 3D conceptual views and finished design presentation documentation
- Providing solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives
- Develop and produce BIM drawing packages for design review, tendering and construction;
- Working with the team (with oversight by Design Director/Senior Designer) to select, schedule and develop the concept of FF&E, color and materials for projects in coordination with other team members;
- Produce sketch plan/schematic design documentation of interior layouts, loose furniture, joinery, finishes;
- May be involved in meeting with suppliers and coordinate and educate the design team on new materials, brands and special treatments;
- Delivering the highest quality of professional service
- Support rest of the team with primary design interface with clients and attend client / site meetings as required;
- Responsible for arranging the finishes library and preparing finishes boards for client presentations
- Render plans and elevations to convey a design concept to a client
Your Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience with the design of workplace interiors projects and retail experiences
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design or architecture
- Strong planning abilities, including development of design concepts, knowledge of furniture and finishes, planning codes, and budgets
- Self-starters with good verbal and written communication skills both with team and clients
- Strong presentation skills
- Proficiency in the use of Revit, AutoCAD as a minimum, and other 3D design programs
- Fluent in both Japanese and English
