The role
The Japanese Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between the Japanese customer and the offshore development/testing team in Vietnam, managing requirements, coordination, and overall communication flow.
- Participate in on-site discussions with Japanese customers/ Japanese Project team to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements related to Energy systems.
- Capture and understand requirements, solution design, and system architecture, business flow to support the testing phase.
- Act as a communication bridge between the customer and the offshore team, ensuring clear understanding of requirements, priorities, and feedback.
- Coordinate with the Vietnam-based team during Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and automation testing phases.
- Collaborate as a member of the Japan-based team while also managing tasks and progress of the offshore team in Vietnam.
- Handle issue resolution, change management, and ongoing Q&A throughout the project lifecycle.
- Engage directly with multiple stakeholders from the customer side, including business users, QA teams, and project managers, to align expectations and timelines.
- Ensure that quality standards are strictly followed, especially in testing, documentation, and delivery reviews — in line with Japanese customer expectations.
- Plan, monitor, and report progress in a structured and transparent way, following Japanese project management practices (e.g., detailed status tracking, issue escalation, and consensus building).
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Energy, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in large-scale system development or integration projects.
- Technical knowledge in Java-based platforms, cloud environments, and system integration is a strong advantage.
- Experience in the energy industry, particularly in market-related systems is a strong plus.
- Experience with Japanese project management practices, including schedule adherence, detailed reporting, and milestone tracking.
- Ability to manage tasks, coordinate cross-functional teams, and align internal and external resources effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse stakeholders — both client-side and internal.
- Familiarity with system validation processes, especially FAT and test automation.
- Japanese language proficiency: Business level or higher (JLPT N2 equivalent or above) — must be able to communicate directly with customers in Japanese.
- English: Able to communicate internally with offshore teams (basic reading/writing/speaking).
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to quality in deliverables.
