About the team:
XDEV (External Development) is the PlayStation Studios production team working with outside studios around the world with high aspirations and technical capabilities.
XDEV is a global team that is responsible for the latest PS5 exclusive Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and the upcoming MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. With multiple offices in Japan, US, and Europe, XDEV’s global mission is to partner with independent studios around the world to create award-winning, exclusive PlayStation titles.

Role overview:
Join the Japanese arm of XDEV in Tokyo and collaborate with the best independent game developers in Japan and in Asia to seek out, evaluate, produce and release external products (video games) to the highest possible quality and success, on time and on budget.
Manage the development and approval processes of those products from initial concept decision or acquisition through to final commercial mastering. Ensure external development partners trust and satisfaction, while developing an inclusive and collaborative team culture and a growth mindset.
What you'll be doing:
- Define the development path, cost and schedule for the games.
- Agree tools and production methodologies with the Senior Producer, with the Senior Director of XDEV, and other members of the XDEV and PlayStation Studios leadership team, as required.
- Set deliverable milestones.
- Build development reports, conduct milestone reviews and agree milestone sign off with XDEV production team and line manager.
- Advise Senior Producer and Senior Director of XDEV of the schedule, delivery dates, milestones, budgetary and resource requirements/changes.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that a common focus and direction exist within the team and are communicated within the external development studio. This must drive the quality and the overall impact potential of the title within SIE.
- Ensure the project focus or central USP is established and effectively communicated to marketing.
- Agree design document with Senior Producer, Senior Director of XDEV, and other members of the XDEV leadership team, as required, and delivers it within time, quality and cost parameters.
- Ensure titles meet with up to date QA guidelines, that QA understand all relevant project related issues, and that QA process is executed as effectively and as efficiently as possible.
- Drive clarity and visibility with the external developers and within SIE by developing and maintaining a solid relationship, frequent communications and team liaison with external developers and internal partners.
- Execute effective presentation of the titles to internal functions and external partners.

- Must have produced or worked on several successful/major games titles on console and/or PC
