RETAIL MANAGER - GEORG JENSEN JAPAN
OUR ROLE
The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our current 14 shops in shop and flagship stores in Japan. This role plays a critical part in maintaining brand excellence and delivering an exceptional client experience aligned with the values of Fiskars Group.
The position involves developing and implementing strategies to maximize sales, profitability, and consumer engagement while maintaining world-class service standards and operational efficiency. The Retail Manager will lead a team of Georg Jensen store managers nation-wide, offering coaching, support and guidance to ensure consistent execution of the brand’s identity and performance expectations.
This role will partner cross-functionally with DTC・Direct To Consumer /Retail, Marketing, Merchandising, Client Services, and Supply Chain teams, and will lead the entire network with a focus on delivering business objectives through effective leadership and operational excellence, commercial budgeting/planning, execution and regular follow-up.
In addition, the Retail Manager serves as the Leader on Duty, setting the tone for the retail floor by engaging with clients, elevating team performance, and driving a culture of excellence and accountability currently approximately 60 people. This position is accountable for store’s PL including cost controls, identifying ways to optimize efficiency across the network.
What You’ll Do
Develop and execute operational strategies to drive sales growth, satisfaction, and profitability
Recruit, train, coach, and schedule store-level leadership and staff
Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure availability of core and novelty jewellery collections
Ensure all store operations comply with internal policies and luxury retail standards
Conduct regular store visits and audits to uphold operational and service excellence
Partner with Marketing and Merchandising to implement brand-aligned campaigns and in-store activations
Build and nurture client relationships through service excellence and a high-touch experience
Analyse store KPIs and sales trends to drive business insights and performance improvements
Ensure visual merchandising and display standards reflect brand aesthetics and luxury positioning
Oversee loss prevention, security, and compliance initiatives in alignment with brand expectations
Who You Are
5+ years of experience in luxury retail or premium brand retail operations management. some Jewelry experience is a must.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and improving profitability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management software
Familiarity with CRM and clienteling systems
Bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, or related field
Language skills:
Fluent Japanese (written and spoken)
Business English (written and spoken) is a plus
