Senior Project Manager, Archer Professional Services, Japan
Overview
Archer Professional Services (Archer PS) is focused on helping Archer’s clients realise value and achieve a return on their investment in the Archer’s solution, through the delivery of consulting and services related to Archer – the industry’s leading Governance, Risk and Compliance solution.
The Senior Project Manager (PM) role is external client facing and will be responsible for managing Archer projects to prospective and existing customers. The successful candidate must have strong Senior Project Management experience and will lead and provide direction to internal staff and partners of Archer professional services.
This role reports up to the Archer PS Senior Manager, APAC, with a dotted-line report to the Head of Sales & GTM, Japan.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of complex, high risk projects and maintaining project quality, finances and focus.

Prepares detailed project plan for each engagement within the standards of project management methodologies. Reviews and validates statement of work (SOW). Categorizes requirements into a project plan detailing schedules, controls, resources, costs and daily tasks. Prepare and maintains risk and issue registers. Adheres to established standards, processes, and best practices while striving for, maintaining and further developing excellence in processes and services.

Establishes project governance. Responsible for the delivery and daily management of activities, coordinating Archer PS employees and/or Partner Resources. Manages staffing on projects in Japan. Accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the customer.

Controls the financial compliance. Completes weekly and quarterly forecasts of revenue and utilization. Prepares estimated time to complete, manages backlog. Manages the cost budget and the impact of change requests on cost budget. Responsible for correct invoicing. Follows and executes Archer’s revenue recognition rules and policies.

Responsible for Quality Assurance; ensuring projects are delivered to scope defined within the SOW and ensure any deviations are processed via our defined Change Control process. Participates in customer discussions regarding budget, risk and impact of changes. Communicates to all Archer concerned parties about any existing or potential customer escalation issues. Proactively manages any Archer escalation and drives the change control process.

Remains the point of contact during the project for all aspects of the engagement. Ensures a strong and seamless relationship by maintaining communications about the project to the stakeholders: customers, management, sales and delivery personnel. Holds internal and customer kick-off meetings as appropriate. Responsible for preparing regular status reports and conducting steering committees.

Leads the PS team during project life cycle; provides project management and oversight to project and/or work streams. Provide performance feedback to management and team members.

Work on-site or remotely as part of a team to deliver Archer software solutions to our customers.

Maintains a strong relationship with existing clients and partners to ensure our best chance for expansion opportunities.

Represent Archer in a professional manner to customers, partners and other personnel at all times.

Articulates the full value of the Archer Professional Services business benefit to the customer and sales. Looks for potential future opportunities and communicates to sales as appropriate.

Maintain an active knowledge of current industry trends and new technologies. Complete and maintain industry recognized project management certification. Complete required accreditations.

Adhere to and maintain a strong understanding of the Archer services portfolio, underlying technologies, best practices and delivery methodology.

Travel as required, up to 10% within Japan, APAC theatre and globally.
Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, in a technical discipline or 10+ years of relevant work experience.

Background in project management at a variety of companies in various industries including but not limited to Banking and Finance, Information Technology, and Statutory organizations.

Reputable Project Management Certification.

Excellent communication, presentation and meeting facilitation skills (Japanese and English).

Financial and analytical experience.

Organizational skills, and the ability to lead, motivate and direct a team.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
