Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.
- 6 years of experience managing and building teams.
- Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
- 8 years of experience in telecommunications, OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, and relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.
- 8 years of experience directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment.
- Strong knowledge in data networking architectures and physical network components.
- Ability to build multiple strategic senior stakeholder relationships, and succeed in an environment of ambiguity and create order out of it.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, learn new business and technical skills quickly, and adapt to changing environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for the infrastructure and telecommunication deployment and operations support of our cloud network infrastructure across Japan and South Korea.

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of individuals; set and communicate individual and team priorities that support organizational goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
- Direct and prioritize resources while maintaining quality and adherence to network standards.
- Collaborate as a subject matter expert to ensure adoption of network infrastructure standards.
- Deliver network capacity for Google via generation of bill of materials, Deployment Packages, device management, vendor management, and standard workflow based activation.
- Triage network issues, identify root cause, generate Maintenance Operation Procedure, and orchestrate network repair and completion of on-site work in support of the repair activity.
