To succeed, you’ll need to be willing to roll up your sleeves, show hustle, and work collaboratively across multiple teams. As the owner of JP retail experience with and through channel partners, you’ll manage multiple milestones and shifting requirements in a fluid, fast-moving environment, work closely with global and local marketing teams to develop break-through in-store and digital experiences, and create rigorous analytical processes to measure their efficiency while optimizing the overall budget.
Key job responsibilities
• Advocate for what is best for the customer in creating a world-class customer experience.
• Create a best-in-class knowledge of shoppers in each sector (consumer electronics, department stores, mass retail, etc.), developing omni-channel retail solutions to drive a measurable impact on shopper understanding, purchase intent and cross category purchasing via point of purchase displays and merchandising.
• Lead creation of innovative point of sale playbooks and merchandising approaches for existing and new retail accounts.
• Own the development and launch of display fixtures in order to help consumer engagement, decision making and in-store visibility.
• Own the briefing to execution processes in order to deliver high impact, cost effective display solutions, delivering upon key business objectives such as CX impact, speed and ROI.
• Work with Amazon and partner agencies to lead briefing, execution and sign-off of in store merchandising collateral. Coordinate cross-functional teams, communicating internally and externally, while meeting tight deadlines and ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and global disclosure guidelines.
A day in the life
This role is based in Tokyo, Japan. The successful candidate will be well versed in the JP Offline retailer environment, providing insights and expertise on in-store capabilities and requirements; equally comfortable thinking strategically and ensuring tactical level details are executed flawlessly. Through deep insight into JP consumers, retailers and store formats, you will develop and deliver POS strategies that measurably improve the customer experience at the point of purchase. You understand the unique requirements for in-store merchandising execution across key strategic partners and retail accounts (set dates, execution capability, security requirements, branding restrictions/guidelines). You will need to thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous, and fast-paced business environment, operating across multiple teams and levels in the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
- Experience with onsite marketing, lifecycle marketing and digital advertising
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of HTML, XML, and Excel- Experience leading cross-functional teams to establish strong partnerships with demonstrable results
