About the location:
The 123-room Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto is the company’s second destination in Japan, in the city’s historic Higashiyama-ku district, close to the Kyoto National Museum and myriad heritage sites such as the Toyokuni Shrine and Kiyomizu Temple. Local artists are featured throughout the traditionally-inspired modern décor characterised by an understated Japanese aesthetic. The Hotel has a spa and fitness centre with a pool, and four food and beverage concepts. There are also be 57 Four Seasons Private Residences.The Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto is looking for F&B Guest Relations Officer (Hostess). Candidates with passion for excellence, expertise in hospitality operations and proven leadership experience are invited to apply for a career with Four Seasons. As a member of the Food & Beverage Division, F&B Guest Relations Officer works across disciplines to deliver an exceptional experience.
*Successful candidate requires a fluent English and Japanese ability in speaking, and writing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a harmonious and professional relationship with co-workers, supervisors and all departments.
- Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
- Seat and allocate reservations to each meal period, guests promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party and according to guest preference, special occasions.
- Anticipate the needs of guests, respond accordingly to guest inquiries or problems, and recognize regular guests by name and utilize the guest’s name consistently.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and Supervisors.
- Good communication with Chefs.
- Informing management when VIPs visit the outlet.
- Assist in other areas of the department as needed.
- Set up host and hostess stand, review guest reservation book, and make recommendations as to the set-up of the room, maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant while recognizing the maximum workload capacity of each server in order to meet Four Seasons Service standards.
- Answer telephones according to Four Seasons standards and take guest reservations or provide information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service
- Inspect and maintain daily menus to ensure quality, condition and appearance while developing a complete working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials
- Table solution management.
- Menu updates and Menu upkeep.
- Inventory of all stationaries.
- Create and print guest menus.
- Go beyond guest expectations creating memorable moment.
- Take care of guest’s belongings, manage the cloak room.
- Manage guests lost and found following procedures.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Restaurant and Bars.
