Steelcase is seeking a Manager, Brand Communications & Marketing to join our Brand & Communications team in Japan. As a key leader, you will develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives to:
- Elevate the Steelcase brand presence across Japan and Korean markets
- Drive market share growth in the office furniture sector
- Enhance customer engagement through innovative marketing communications programs
- Provide comprehensive marketing support to dealer networks and direct sales teams
This is an opportunity for a trained marketing and branding professional with 8-10 years of experience growing brands to lead impactful projects across multiple disciplines, balancing demand generation, performance marketing with long term brand building.
Your Key Responsibilities
As Senior Manager, you’ll:
- Portfolio Branding
- Engage with regional and global resources to create compelling product collateral, decks, videos, and flyers to support local business objectives in line with regional and global objectives. Seek localization where required
- Provide market insights to guide branding strategies.
- Brand & Creative
- Defend and oversee the brand position, tone of voice, and visual identity.
- Lead local creative campaigns, including video and audio production.
- Contribute to strategies for advertising, positioning, and brand governance.
- Manage local brand awareness efforts tailored to the local market when essential
- Demand Generation & Campaigns
- Liaise with regional performance marketing team to inform advertising and initiatives across social media platforms, Google Ads, programmatic and email campaigns.
- Plan and execute brand awareness campaigns to meet growth targets.
- Drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities through targeted email marketing.
- Content & Communications
- Build thought leadership through a strategic PR approach, client case studies, and social media content.
- Localise global and regional communications campaigns, to drive brand salience
- Collaborate on CSR strategies and client communications to enhance customer and employee retention.
- Events
- Oversee industry event sponsorships, support dealer showrooms and organize Steelcase events.
- Internal and executive communications
- Create local internal communications and executive communications strategy.
- Support country management executive communications with strategic direction and counsel.
- Collaborate with HR on employer branding and engagement initiatives.
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have 8-10 years of experience in building brands.
- Have a marketing or communications qualification (completion of the miniMBA in Marketing or miniMBA in Brand Management is highly regarded)
- Are a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in demand generation, content creation, and digital marketing.
- Possess excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Can partner with key stakeholders (executive leadership team, dealer network, client facing teams, regional brand team, etc) and act as a strategic counsel on brand and communications topics
- Have a keen eye for detail, ensuring compliance.
- Speak English and write fluently.
