WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role will become part of Nike Japan Demand Supply Management (DSM) team, reporting to the Nike Japan Nike Marketplace (NMP) Planning Director and closely work with the Marketplace Unit.
Within DSM, this role will receive seasonal guidance from ABC Mart Merchandising Financial Planner at pre-season and hand off to Marketplace Supply Chain (MSC) just before the season starts. This role will also closely work with Operations to confirm deliveries, Inventory Operations to evaluate excess/short inventory position and Nike Value Stores (NVS) marketplace planning team for liquidation. Territory Merch team & Sales will be a great partner for you to kick off the depth planning for the season.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This role will lead pre-season depth planning as well as in and post season activities related to ABC Mart business. We’re looking for a person who can demonstrate strong leadership to enable growth of Nike Japan. This role is accountable to be an objective partner to Marketplace Unit (MPU) teams to drive clear, thoughtful, fact-based business decisions. Understand product, marketplace, insights and marketing strategies to inform demand and inventory forecasts. Collaborate with key cross functional stakeholders on pre-season and in-season risks & opportunities. Cultivate an end-to-end process improvement mindset to optimize ways of working. 5+ years’ experience in Buying, Planning, Allocation and/or Vendor Sales for a multi-store retailer or Assortment Planning experience with other apparel/ footwear wholesale organization
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
Comprehensive understanding of retail math, including gross margin profitability planning.
Strong and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence others.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications; high proficiency in Excel, including creating spreadsheets, advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.
Strong oral and written communication skills (in both English and Japanese)
Experience in developing an understanding of customers, competitors and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will influence and drive alignment on seasonal assortment plan for ABC Mart, providing your expertise based on consumer behavior, trends and marketing activities.
Provide detailed seasonal analysis based on actual sales results to be used for future seasonal financial planning.
Development of seasonal assortment Plan at style-color level (and Key Franchise) for footwear, apparel, and equipment products to maximize revenue, margin and optimize inventory. (Season 4)
In partnership with Account Executive, negotiation with Partners to adopt the suggested assortment plan and manage the Partner’s seasonal order entry to ensure entry meets company deadline and integrity of the order.
Development and communication of weekly sales results, providing both positive/negative results and possible action plan(s).
Monthly creation and management of Stock & Sales Plan for key franchises, providing inventory outlook used for future buying decision(s).
Management of Product Offer End Date extensions, application for returns and stock transfers.
